Introduction

This interactive webinar is designed to support staff in General Practice who have been assigned the role of Senior Information Risk Owner (SIRO). The SIRO plays a critical leadership role in overseeing the organisation’s approach to information risk, ensuring that systems, policies, and practices are in place to manage data securely and in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

Aims

To provide a clear understanding of the SIRO role, its responsibilities, and how it interacts with other key governance roles. The session offers practical guidance to help SIROs identify, assess, and manage information risks effectively.

By the end of the session, participants will:

  • Be able to identify key information risks and implement proportionate controls.
  • Recognise the relationship between the SIRO, Caldicott Guardian, and Data Protection Officer.
