You are required to attend both sessions in order to be awarded your certificate of attendance and access to the training materials. Please ensure you are able to attend all the above dates before booking.
Introduction
This live-online, instructor led session is aimed at Nurses and AHPs who are already familiar with CKD. CKD is an important condition in itself, and also as a marker of cardiovascular risk. In these 2 sessions, we consider the function of the kidneys in health and review what goes wrong in CKD. We address the risk factors for CKD, how the diagnosis is made and how to explain the diagnosis to the patient. We then go on to address the lifestyle interventions and pharmacological management which can improve outcomes. We also discuss potential complications of CKD and how to carry out an effective annual review, including recognition of when to refer on.
Aims
The aims of this live-online, instructor led session are to:
- enhance the knowledge and clinical skills of Nurses and Allied Health Professionals (AHPs) with existing familiarity in chronic kidney disease (CKD).
- deepen understanding of kidney function in health and disease, and how CKD acts as both a condition in itself and a marker of cardiovascular risk.
- equip participants with the confidence to diagnose, explain, manage, and review CKD effectively in clinical practice.
