Kai Howard

Practice Manager

I have been a practice manager for 11 years, firstly working in a GP practice in Oxfordshire before moving to Purton Surgery in North Wiltshire. Prior to working within GP practices I held management positions in the private sector.

Every day is different and working priorities are forever changing, so having the ability to be flexible, along with a variety of administrative and leadership skills is certainly useful.

Its enjoyable working with and leading a loyal and dedicated team to improve our patient’s experience through strategic development, training and inspiring.

Working closely with an engaging patient group to improve our standards and patient care and being a valued part of the community is all rewarding aspects of the job.

Now with Primary Care Networks (PCNs) expanding, working closely with neighbouring medical centres ensures we learn best practice from each other and working alongside practice manager colleagues is a valuable support resource.
