Skin Assessment and Common Dermatological Conditions

This engaging refresher session is designed for Practice Nurses and Allied Health Professionals looking to enhance their skills in skin assessment and the recognition and management of common dermatological conditions.

Aims

This training session aims to equip participants with the skills to take a focused dermatological history, assess the morphology, configuration, and distribution of skin lesions, and develop an understanding of common dermatological conditions and their management.

The session will also enable participants to recognise red flag signs and symptoms that may indicate more serious skin conditions requiring specialist referral.

Objectives

By the end of this training session, participants will be able to:

• Accurately assess and describe skin lesions using correct terminology related to morphology, configuration, and distribution.
• Identify and manage common dermatological conditions encountered in primary care.
