DESCRIPTION:Learn how to use FeNO testing to improve asthma diagnosis and management within primary care – practical advice and real world examples for the jobbing GP and AHP. \nFeNO is a safe\, fast and non-invasive measure of airway inflammation characteristically seen in asthma. It can help provide a more accurate diagnosis of asthma in adults and children/young people. With poor asthma outcomes across the UK and a misdiagnosis rate of 30%\, it is essential that we reduce the amount of guesswork that we currently rely on in the care of our patients with asthma and suspected asthma. \nAims & Objectives\n\nImprove accuracy in asthma diagnosis and management\nBridge the gap between national guidelines and everyday clinical practice\nDemonstrate the role and value of FeNO testing\n\nContent\nThis session will help bridge the gap between national guidelines and clinical practice by providing applied practical information on how to best use FeNO testing in primary care\, offering case studies\, real world examples\, resources and access to national training. \n\nChallenges of diagnosing Asthma\nWhat is FeNO testing and why should we use it?\nHow to do a FeNO test\nQOF and FeNO\nCase Studies\n\nPrevious Delegate Feedback\n“Clearly very experienced specialists which was helpful in putting FeNO in a clinical patient-focused contex “

SUMMARY:Management of Chronic Pain and Deprescribing for GPs & AHPs
DESCRIPTION:Introduction\nNICE guidance on the management of chronic pain and on deprescribing drugs of dependency have brought the issues of both pain and prescription painkiller dependency to the fore. The PCN prescribing incentive scheme also makes it clear that the expectation is that the vast majority of these drugs are tapered off where appropriate. \nThis session is designed for GPs\, AHPs\, and prescribers\, focusing on the practical ‘how to’ of supporting patients with chronic pain management and safe deprescribing (recognising that these conversations are often challenging). \nAims\nTo support clinicians in addressing the challenges of managing chronic pain while safely reducing long-term reliance on prescription painkillers. \nObjectives\n\nUnderstand the scale of the problem and the potential adverse effects of long term opioid therapy.\nLearn tips to help improve your practice systems (including system template guidance)\nUnderstand how to move your patients way from medical dependency to a more self reliant method\n\nContent\n\nThe Scale of the Problem\nAdverse Effects of Long-Term Opioid Therapy\nManagement of Chronic Pain\nGuidance on Deprescribing\nSupport Systems & Resources\nPractical Considerations\nCase Studies\n\nPrevious Delegate Feedback\n“The resources were excellent.
