SUMMARY:Introduction to Vaccinations and Immunisations 2 Days
DESCRIPTION:This is a multi-day event. \n\nDay 1 –  Tuesday 17 November 2026\nDay 2 –  Wednesday 18 November 2026\n\nPlease ensure you are able to attend all the above dates before booking. \nIntroduction\nThis training is aimed at Practice Nurses who are new to providing immunisations and will be providing the full range of childhood and adult immunisations covered in the routine UK schedules.  It will provide nurses with the latest guidance on national immunisation programmes\, anaphylaxis and demonstrate the tools and resources available to manage common incidents and educate patients. Foundation training and updates are tailored to suit the requirements of the delegates to their specific area of practice and the vaccine(s) that they deliver. \nObjectives\nDuring this session we will cover: \n\nCurrent issues in immunisation\nRecent epidemiology of vaccine preventable disease\nAny changes to vaccine recommendations or national policy\nUpdate on vaccine ordering\, storage and administration\nAny changes to legislation relevant to vaccination\nReview of current practice\, recent vaccine incidents and identification of areas for improvement\n\nWe will also look at baby imms\, and where appropriate HPV/Shingles and other routine vaccines \nChanges to the Routine Vaccination Schedule\nThe trainer strongly advises all delegates sign up for the Vaccine Update Newsletter. \nPrevious Delegate Feedback\n“I really liked having advice on accessing additional information. SUMMARY:New GP Receptionist Training - 2 Half Days
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed for new and developing reception and administrative staff working in GP practices and primary care teams. \nIt will help delegates understand the role of GP reception\, how general practice works\, and how reception teams support safe\, effective and compassionate patient care. \nThe programme introduces the structure of the local NHS including ICBs\, PCNs and how local practices fit within those structures. \nSuitable for staff who are new to general practice or who would benefit from a structured introduction to primary care\, including: \n\nNew GP Receptionists\nReception Staff\nCare Navigators\nPatient Coordinators\nPractice Administrators\nMedical Secretaries\nWorkflow Administrators\nCare Coordinators\nGP Assistants\nStaff moving into primary care from other sectors\n\nThe programme is suitable for GP practices\, Primary Care Networks (PCNs)\, and primary care organisations. \nAims\nThe aim of this course is to help reception and administrative staff develop confidence in working safely and effectively within GP practices. \nContent\n\nUnderstand the role and responsibilities of GP reception teams\nDevelop awareness of how the NHS and general practice services are structured.\nRecognise the roles of GPs\, nurses\, healthcare assistants and wider primary care staff.\nUnderstand common disease areas encountered in general practice.\nApply confidentiality\, GDPR and information governance principles in practice.\nUse safe patient identification processes when speaking with patients\, relatives and carers.\nUnderstand appropriate approaches to giving results and sharing information.\nRecognise red flags and situations requiring escalation in line with practice protocols.\nDevelop simple communication skills for telephone and front-desk interactions.\nCreate an initial understanding of medical terminology\nBuild confidence in supporting patients professionally and compassionately.\n\nThis event is not being recorded
