DESCRIPTION:This half day update will cover all that nurses need to know in the way of children’s and adult’s immunisations and vaccinations. This is a generic update aimed at clinicians who provide the full range of childhood and adult immunisations covered in the routine UK schedules. It will provide clinicians with the latest guidance on national immunisation programmes and demonstrate the tools and resources available to manage common incidents and educate patients.  Delegates are advised to have attended annual resuscitation training\, which should include anaphylaxis care. \nAims\nWe will cover the recommended topics for annual immunisation update training within the National Minimum Standards: \n\nCurrent issues in vaccination\nRecent epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases\nAny changes to the National Immunisation Schedule\nAny changes to legislation relevant to vaccination\nAnaphylaxis recognition and management\nReview of current practice and identification of areas for improvement\n\nPlus we will have a Q&A session for commonly encountered problems in practice. \nThe training can be supported in practice using the: UKHSA_National_Minimum_Standards_for_immunisation_training_2025.pdf \nObjectives\nThis course meets Public Health England’s National Minimum Standards for Immunisation Training and includes any new and upcoming changes.

DESCRIPTION:This is a multi-day (non-consecutive) event. \n\nDay 1 – Tuesday 03 March 2026 09:30 to 16:00\nDay 2 – Wednesday 04 March 2026 09:30 to 16:00\nDay 3 – Thursday 16 April 2026 – Half day follow-up over Zoom 09:30 to 12:30\n\nPlease ensure you are able to attend all the above dates before booking. \nIntroduction\nThis course has been designed specifically for Health Care Assistants working in general practice and recognises the extensive clinical skills and competencies required in their role. Following the two core days\, there will be a half day zoom workshop to refresh and consolidate skills.  Please Note: It is important you attend all 3 sessions (2.5 days in total). \nAims\nThe interactive two days face to face training will cover several core subjects and provide a competency framework for each area of learning to complete with mentorship back in the workplace. Using a blend of resources such as quizzes\, case studies and group discussion\, the teaching will be both fun and informative. \nObjectives\nEach HCA who attends the course will receive their own personal Development Portfolio and induction framework that they can use as a working document to store their evidence of learning. This will become invaluable as their growing skill set show cases their contribution to General practice. Prior to this course the HCA will receive a Preceptorship document as a working tool to enable some in-house development and prepare them for the course.
