SUMMARY:Flu Update Morning for HCAs
DESCRIPTION:This half day live-online\, instructor led course is suitable for any HCA/HCPs who are already trained in the administration of the influenza vaccination and requiring an annual update ahead of the current season.  As seasonal flu changes every year\, it is essential that skills and competency are refreshed to maintain evidence of best practice and provide safe\, effective delivery of the vaccination programme. \nAims\nThis live\, online\, trainer led workshop will revisit the necessary learning for influenza\, with case studies and discussion to explore those difficult scenarios alongside a quiz assessment of knowledge and skills.  Delegates will have an opportunity to revisit competency frameworks and have access to all the necessary paperwork for a robust\, efficient clinic. \nObjectives\nFollowing attendance the HCA/HCP will: \n\nhave refreshed knowledge and skills ahead of the flu season\nbe able to discuss the vaccination choices for the relevant cohorts and articulate why there are a range\nHave updated legal frameworks and competency documentation\nbe able to recognise their own scope of practice and know when to refer on\n\nContent\nCourse content will include: \n\nRefreshing knowledge of influenza viruses\nDocumentation and Governance of practice\nKnowledge of NMC guides to medicine management and patient specific directives\nThis seasons flu campaign\, including an overview of recent changes to the programme\nAssessment of learning\n\nPlease note: It is really important that practitioners have the fundamental knowledge and competency required to enable them to progress to vaccine specific courses and for treatment injectables such as Flu\, Pneumococcal\, Shingrix\, Vitamin B12 & Prostap. \nPrevious Delegate Feedback\n“Julia was a great teacher and very knowledgeable\, it was a great refresher and I feel prepared for flu season now “ \nThis event is not being recorded
